Gratitude

Happy March 1st,
We are two months into the new year, I feel like I blinked and March was here. January was tough, a lot of things I didn't see coming happened (broke down car, traveling to California) and February was fun, I turned 24 (what!? I'm still in denial ). I would like to remind you how fast it truly went. This morning I decided to start my day by attending a 5:45am hot yoga class. For me, Yoga teaches me how to be present in the moment and to be thankful for where you are right now. It forces you to vulnerable and I feel like that's something our generation is missing. I invite you to express gratitude for the months of 2019 that have passed. Express gratitude for the good, the bad, the happy times and the times that may have caused you pain. The older I get the more I realize how precious the time we have really is. My goal for the month of March is just to allow myself to be present in the moment. From the bottom of my heart, I hope you join me and take this month to be more present, to engage in deep conversations and spend time with the people who make you forget that you even have a phone. Those are my favorite kind of people.
Here's a list of ways I show gratitude.
Be gracious when challenged. When someone challenges your words or opinions stay polite and show grace by listening to what the other person have to say. You truly never know what another person is dealing with.
Being an active listener. By doing that you are showing gratitude to the other person.
Perform random acts of kindness. Such as, a simple smile to a stranger. Or paying it forward while your getting morning coffee.
Make eye contact when engaging in conversation. It allows you to clearly show that you are listening.
Journal your blessings. Take a few moments each morning or each night to set aside time to write down all the things you are thankful for. For example, today I am thankful to have my best friend, to have a car that has heat and to have my parents so close to where I live.
Set goals. Incase you haven't stuck to those new years revolutions that you made, here's a reminder that it is not too late. It is never too late to start over, to make new more attainable goals. Show gratitude to yourself by setting a goal and reaching it.
Be patient. I will be honest, this is something that I struggle with. I am so used to instant gratification, I tend to get ahead of myself and forget to practice patience.
Until next time!
xoxo yours truly,
Bryce Kathleen
